A Ransom for Many #071"It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners" (1 Timothy 1:15). This was Christs mission. This is why He went to the cross on a dark Friday when it was black as night at mid-day. This is why He died on that cross after hanging there for six agonizing hours (Mark 15:25 and 33). This is why Christ fulfilled the prophesy of Psalm 22:1, crying out, "My God, My God, Why have You forsaken Me?" (Matthew 27:46). Jesus came "to give His life a ransom for many" (Mark 10:45). He calls out saying, "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). How many will respond to this invitation? The apostle John saw a vision of those who will be in heaven. He saw "a great multitude, which no one could count" (Revelation 7:9). Unfortunately, there are those who will never trust in Christ for their salvation from sin. It looks to them as though they are in the majority. Harsh words await them. "Depart from me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels" (Matthew 25:41). This is a trustworthy message. It deserves your full and complete acceptance. Will you be among the multitude safely lodged in heaven?
