Cruel Moments In LifeA member of the upper caste system, living nearby, noticed this lowerHindu brother kneeling and immediately became infuriated. He grabbed apiece of pipe and began to beat the poor man until he died. Thesurrounding worshipers looked on and gave no disapproval. The police werecalled but no charges were laid. The poor man's family was devastated. This, their father and husband was miraculously healed and now he wasbeaten to death for thanking his god for the recovery. Life can be harsh, yes, so cruel. You, too, may have experienced the unfairness of life. You and I probablycould share many cups of coffee and stories together.David in the Psalms in the Bible also agonizes over where his God is at times. In mostof the Psalms he writes, he acknowledges that God sees through histroubles. There is one Psalm, #38, where David cries out in anguishbecause of his predicament. This time David does not have thewhere-with-all to acknowledge that God will see through his troubles.David is so overwhelmed. This Psalm ends on an unhappy note, unlikeother Psalms. But we know David continues to take comfort in hisShepherd. The Bible does not say that the Christian life will be easy. Iheard it once said that roses do not grow on mountain tops but more oftenin the valley. Interesting. The story of the Hindu man had an unusual twist as reported on the news. Many people in India are now turning to Christianity: they see changedlives as others realize that Jesus can heal their broken hearts and lives.Daily Wisdom reader, I challenge you to take this step that thousands ofothers have already done. Find out how Jesus Christ can change your heart.Yes, life can be so cruel but there is Someone who can heal our hurts.
