Crutches

Several years ago Jimmie fractured his ankle. The doctor put it in acast, and told us he would have to use crutches for quite a while. They wouldbe the support he needed as his ankle healed.

All people need a spiritual crutch. When it is anything other than God, itwill not support us properly through trying times. The Bible tells us inIssiah 41:10 b, that God will strengthen you, will help you and uphold youwith His righteous right hand. Sometimes we use spiritual crutches which arereally not strong enough to support us or aren't even appropriate. We may usealcohol or drugs (illegal, prescription or over the counter), we may purchase"things" to make us feel better, we may spend money irresponsibly to impressothers or we may depend on people to be our crutches. Relationships can failwith broken romances, demise of marriages, missed job opportunities andfriendships falling apart. Because we are human, we must LEAN ON THE LORD.We cannot walk the faith walk alone. He is the true spiritual crutch- and Hewill stay with us all the days of our lives; if we ask Him.
