Shell ShockedHermit crabs are one of the marvels of God's creation and live in a sea shell with only their head and legs sticking out. All that you see, really, is a shell with legs that occasionally walk around. With the crabs, came a brochure describing how to care for them. I discovered the hermit crab comes out of its shell on only two occasions. First, when the crab is molting and growing. Second, when the crab is experiencing stress.Stress is a popular topic in our fast-paced culture. Most of the advice is how to avoid stress. But, there are times I've experienced stress that was from God. Why? Like the hermit crab, I needed to come out of my shell. My comfort zones, my boundaries, my self-imposed limitations, and whatever else you want to call it needed to change. God was applying stress in my life so I would change. Like the hermit crab, coming out of my shell meant it was time to shed some old stuff and grow. It's never comfortable. But when I get out of my shell, God always moves me to a bigger place in my life. There is some stress, I've found, that just may be from God. Well, I'll close for now, I need to go... I think I hear a tapping on my shell. Hear it?
