Gifts

Maybe we give gifts according to where we are at the time, rather than where the recipient is.Last week, I bought the loveliest handkerchief for my sister. It is old-fashioned looking and has her initial on it. I was in a nostalgic and sentimental mood at the time. She is not a very frilly of fluffy person. But she will probably like it.

This afternoon, I bought my friend some smiley face pencils for her birthday. I like them, and although smiley face is not her favorite, she will no doubt appreciate the thought behind it.

A long time ago, our Creator decided to give us a gift. He picked something He wanted to give us... a bridge back to Him, and the relationship He has always wanted with us. It cost Him a bundle, but He gave us the gift anyway... because that's where He was at... loving us that much.
