Knots in the Knitting

My project was planned.. a little knitted blanket for the baby. No problem, I thought. I can do this! I purchased several skeins of yarn, needles and and instruction book and began to work. As I pulled the strand of yarn from the skein things began to go amiss. This skein must have been mal-manufactured! A single, straight piece of yarn should have come out of the midle of the skein, but instead- I got knots everywhere. I tried to separate and smooth them out- but that made matters worse! I picked, loosened and even tried giving a quick snap to unlossen the knots - but to no avail. My wonderfully planned projet had become a pain in the neck- simply because I tried to "fix" the knots instead of just cutting them out.

Sometimes our lives may seem like a series of projects- doing for others , working, being a homemaker, chauffer, chief cook and bottlewasher, nursing duties and loving wife and mother. We may be bound up in emotional projects, also. Worrying about aging parents, the future for precious grandchidren, friends and relatives who don't know God, and helath problems are a few among the list.

Why do we expect everything to come out smoothly, like I expected that strand of yarn? Living on this earth is more complicated than that, and there are things I just cannot untangle, as hard as I try. The good news is the Lord is ready and waiting to take care of all you "knots". He can untangle all the snarles in our souls, and banish our worry. We, however, must give the problem over to Him, through prayer. Today, let's put our knots of life into the capable hands of the Creator - He is more than able to handle them for us.
