Can Jesus Christ Trust You? #143

Most ministers will urge you to trust Christ. He is the Savior. Oddly enough, the Bible also puts it the other way. "But Jesus, on His part, was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men" (John 2:24). In other words, there were certain people whom Christ could not trust.

Jesus knows what is in the hearts of men, women, young people, and children. "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts and fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness" (Mark 7:21-22). Jesus did not trust this particular group of people for good reason. When they did get their hands on Jesus, they murdered Him. They turned Him over to the Roman governor and cried out with one voice, "Crucify Him. . . Crucify Him!" (Mark 15:13-14).

You see, the real problem these people had was a heart problem. Their hearts were filled with hatred. The root problem we all have today is a heart problem. Our hearts are not right with God. We are filled with envy and pride. Be honest! Isn’t this the case? And so, can Christ really trust us?

Or more personally, can Christ trust you? If not, you need radical heart surgery. You need a new heart, a heart Christ can trust. Only God can give you that new heart.
