Wedding Plans

John 2:11 This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was Jesus' first display of his glory.Wedding plans are in the air around our house. Our daughter was engaged last month, and after countless phone calls and prayers for God's perfect timing, we got the first two biggie reservations made. The church and minister were our first priority, then the place for the reception. The timing was not of our choosing, and was pushed up two months sooner than we had originally anticipated. The push was on! Bridal magazines were read, interviews scheduled, gown bought, cakes tasted, and the list continues. The number of guests was an important factor to determine, for we didn't want to run out of food or drink at the reception. Remember the wedding Jesus attended in Cana? The planners for that reception miscalculated, and a shortage of wine was a dilemma. Jesus' mother addressed the problem and asked her son to make the correction. He did, and that was His first recorded miracle in the Bible.

There is another wonderful wedding reception discussed in Revelations. There will be a grand wedding feast when Jesus returns to retrieve His Bride (us the unified body of believers). If you have ever been to a Jewish wedding, you know what a grand and magnificent time they have. They hold nothing back - bar no expense and want each guest to know how special and honored they are for attending the wedding. Well, remember, Jesus was a Jew, and I am sure He is planning this wedding feast right now-and it will be a humdinger. I am thankful I will be invited, as well as my husband, children, grandchildren, and son in law and future son in law, as well as extended family members. I hope to see you there, too!
