Renewed Interest

It's amazing how a seemingly meaningless idea or sight can re-ignite enthusiasm for something for which we once had a strong passion. For example, I know many long-term married couples who, at various points in their marriage, fall in a rut of complacency. After a while, some small yet profound epiphany will set them on the right track, thus correcting the former act of taking each other for granted.

Recently, I stumbled upon the site of a well-known author. This particular multi-published writer of over one hundred novels and short-stories offers a discussion forum at his site, allowing he and fans of his work a unique and personal relationship of sorts. As I read the many posts, the author often revealing his particular writing techniques and preferences, I felt a renewed spark within me concerning my own love of writing. In no way did the topics each of us write about offer any type of remote similarity, but it didn't matter. Our common bond was our need and desire to create via the written word! And so, after a long period of writers block, the mere sight of seeing someone else excited about their work was enough to stir my writing juices back to action!

There are times when I am walking through the woods, and the sight of a simple flower or woodland creature will inspire me. There are also moments when a particular radio or television program will evoke sadness or gladness within me. How fortune we are that God provides so many mediums which allow us the opportunity to stop, look around and see truth for what it is.

Is there some facet of your life that could use some spicing up and refreshing?  How about your relationship with God?

I encourage you today to be more aware of ways in which God is trying to reach out to you, so that your spirit may likewise be stirred to new life!
