Paul’s Preaching #108

The same old message presented in the same old way will not do. But this was not the position of the apostle Paul. He described his ministry for us. “I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you publicly and from house to house, solemnly testifying to both Jews and Greeks of repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 20:20-21). Yes, Paul taught publicly. And he went from house to house taking the good news of Jesus Christ. And specifically, Paul called upon men and women to repent of sin. He called them to turn from sinful habits. And he told them to turn to Jesus Christ. Christ provides forgiveness for sin. The message for today is exactly the same. You must turn your back on what you know is sin. And at the same time you must turn to Christ. You must bow before Jesus Christ. You must trust Him as your Saviour. And you must follow Him as your Lord.
