BlessedThink about it. While we are frustrated over not being able to find that perfect outfit in our closet, there is someone out in the world who is thankful they at least have one article of clothing to keep them warm. As we peer out the window of our home, jealous we do not possess the larger home of our neighbor, some human being is thankful he at least has a large box or the underside of a bridge to keep him safe from the elements. While we complain to the waiter our steak is too well-done, or our shrimp is a little cold, a small child is thankful he at least has a glass of clean water and stale bread scraps to eat. Sadly, we often tend to treat our loved-ones the same way, focusing on their lacks and flaws, rather than enjoying their strengths and admirable qualities. In the end, it is we who suffer most because of our own distorted mind-set. Today, I challenge you to wake up with a new vision, eyes that drink in the beauty and goodness of life, rather than filter happiness out. This new sight is easily obtainable by calling out to God. You see, God is truth and love, and if it is the purity of righteousness we seek, this is freely given to those who know God.
