Life from the Bible #064

The Bible says, "The word of God is living and active" (Hebrews 4:12).It speaks of the Good News of Jesus Christ and says, "It is the power of God" (Romans 1:16). Showing the power of His words, God says, "So shall my word be which goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it" (Isaiah 55:11). God regularly sends forth His word to change the lives of men and women, boys and girls. He gives them love and joy and peace and many more inner comforts.

Sorrowfully, ever since God created the world by the power of His word, men and women have rebelled against Him. They have refused to accept God's word. Why have men and women avoided God's word? Why have they refused to read God's word in the Bible? Is it because they are dead in sin (Ephesians 2:11)? Is it because God's word is foolishness to them (1 Corinthians 2:14)? Yes! As a result, men and women reject the very life they need, the life of the gospel.

What about you? You too need new life brought about by the word of God. Remember, Jesus Said, "The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life" (John 6:63).
