Better, Better, Better#272

"The standards of Christianity are much better than those of Islam," he said. Moslems do not live the kind of life Christians do. The Christian life style is superior. Those committed to it live by a higher standard. Such a testimony from a person who is a Palestinian from the Middle East is more than interesting. Christian people in America had a profound influence on his life. From personal experience, he found Jesus Christ to be superior. He found Jesus Christ to be superior to Mohammed. This is the whole teaching of the book of Hebrews in the Bible. This book begins by showing how Jesus Christ is better than the angels. Christ is better than Moses. He is better than Aaron, the first high priest of Israel. This means that the sacrifice of Christ was a better sacrifice. "He has obtained a more excellent ministry, by as much as He also is the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises" (Hebrews 8:6). In turn, this means Christ offers a better hope. It is the hope of eternal life. When Christ died on the cross, He paid the penalty due to people like you and me for their sins. That this payment for sins is acceptable to God the Father was proved. Jesus Christ was declared with power to be the Son of God through the resurrection from the dead" (Romans 1:4). Because Jesus Christ is better in every way, He is bold to declare, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me" (John 14:6). Faith in the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the only way to the better hope provided by Christ.
