Surprise

Ephesians :29 b -Let everything you say be good and helpful.As I looked out the window from our hotel room on the 11th floor, I decided to investigate more closely.I drove by horse farms and enjoyed seeing everything from the ground level prespective. As I continued along this street I received one surprise after another. Each magnificent house flanking the street was on a large plot of land and beautifully landscaped, but was behind closed wrought iron gates. At one house,two male peacocks flew to the top of a fence and spread their feathers in a beautiful array for me to enjoy. A few houses down I saw a lama lying in a paddock where I expected to see horses. The surprises continued as I drove, and I was glad I drove down just the “right street”, or I would have missed so much.

Our journey in life is like that, too. God has one amazing surprise after another in store for us. He is ready to unveil them when we take the “right” road of life. (That would be His path).He opens our spiritual eyes to see beauty in people and surroundings, and allows us to absorb this. He gives us surprises of opportunity, growth and development, and discernment in the spiritual realm. He gives us spiritual ears to block out the noise of everyday life and to be open to His still soft whisper in our hearts. The most amazing surprise He has given me on His road of life is the blessing of putting a watch on my mouth. For in the flesh, it is easy for me to criticize, grumble and judge, but with His power, these negative words are blocked.
