Open, ShutOpen, shut. She was fascinated by it. I couldnt help but think how like that we are. Open, shut. We open ourselves to new things, then shut down. We open up to intimacy in relationships and sometimes shut that down. We open up to new ideas, then shut down and stick with the old. When our spirits are open, we are teachable. When closed, we arent. When we become Christians, the Holy Spirit sets up a classroom inside of us. He is our teacher. If our spirits are open, then He can teach us. If closed, He cant. Hopefully my spirit is open to what the Lord wants to show me. However, perhaps during the times it is closed, it would be good to remember the little girl in the red dress and her great excitement to see the door fly open once again. Open, shut... open.
