Keep the Silver Lining ShiningThe bright side, or silver lining is our bridge from the misery to the joy. Even though we feel like there's just no use, we cannot give up. Sometimes we have to clinch our fists, grit our teeth, squinch our eyes and go through it anyway! When we get to the other side, there's always something good waiting for us, because we hung in there. Things are not always going to go the way we want them to. This is a fact, and life will be greatly simplified if we accept this fact and go on. Things can, however, be better if we reach a little bit farther than our comfort zone; you know, that place where we are most comfortable and content. Try getting up in the morning about 10 to 15 minutes earlier for work or school. Put an extra dollar or two in the bank on payday. Write that check for a few dollars more on that charge account. Smile a little more. Make an effort to keep those last harsh, well-thought-about, parting words that you were going to give to that person who offended you. Instead, just try to smile and grit your teeth. See what happens. If we would work a little harder on making ourselves a stronger and better element of this life, every little bit we improve upon will add a great deal not only to our own lives, but also to someone else's life. It's worth it.
