A New Beginning

When I begin, I will also make an end.     1 Samuel 3:12, KJVA friend, Lynn, was sharing how one morning, while trying to make coffee, the light in the coffee pot switch kept blinking unsteadily.  She plugged it into a new outlet, and it exploded.Lights flashed and the old switch burned out.

It’s a new year, and maybe I need a new plug to burn out any flimsy switch in my life.   I’m not too big on new year’s resolutions, and I don’t think God is too interested in our calendar which says it’s a new year.  To Him it might be just another ‘day’.  I do think that He is interested in our repentance and surrender in a new way.  Maybe it’s time for me to take an inventory, and do just that.  Again.

Every ending is a new beginning.  God has a plan for us in 2004, as well as for the rest of our lives. A lot of new beginnings. and they’re good.  one of my favorite bible verses is Jeremiah 29:11, “For i know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord , "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  It’s a great promise.

Today I’m thankful for today, a new beginning.
