Great Claim, Great Comfort #074

So much information about all of us is stored in computers. What happens when the wrong people get control of this information? In answer, you should realize Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, is the one with real power, ultimate power. He says, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth" (Matthew 28:18). This is a great claim. Is it true? Yes, it is. Jesus Christ sits on "the throne of the majesty in the heavens" (Hebrews 8:1). He is "King of kings and Lord of lords" (Revelation 1:17-18). Yes, Jesus Christ rose again from the grave. Now He has power over hell itself. People may be afraid of the misuse of information stored in computers. The Bible says, "Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to kill both body and soul in hell" (Matthew 10:28). Other men and women may inflict bodily harm on you. No other human being has power over your soul. Only Jesus Christ has this ultimate power. He has the power to open heaven. He has the power to send to hell. That's why it's so important to trust in the sacrifice of Christ as the only adequate payment for our sins.
