Godly Transformations

"This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is changing lives everywhere, just as it changed yours..." - Colossians 1:6 A few people I know don't seem to understand why I write for "Daily Wisdom," or any other Christian projects I am involved in. "You aren't getting paid," they say, "So what do you have to gain by it?" My response is always the same,"The spiritual rewards are great!"

Most people who are involved in a ministry do so, not because there is any prestigious title or excellent pay. We do so because God has been good to us, and we want other people to know this same goodness. We may be individuals who have known the bondage of drug or alcohol addiction, and God has shown us how to break free. Sometimes, we are men or women who have lied, cheated or made serious mistakes in our life, and through repentance, God showed us a better way. Some of us may simply have always had a thirst for spiritual knowledge, and a desire to share God's love with an often hurting world.

As a Christian writer, I enjoy meeting people who are not afraid to share with me about how God helped transform their life. While I understand that such revelations might be an embarrassment to someone, the way that I see it is, that is who I WAS, not who I am NOW.

There is no other medium in life I know of which can allow such a total transformation, and believe me, I have seen some pretty dramatic transformations! I have witnessed marriages destined for divorce transformed to something beautiful, and I have seen the love of God melt away the tough exterior and hardened heart of intimidating looking bikers, and gang members.

With God in our life, we are always given the opportunity for a fresh start, and the opportunity for a total transformation. Negative mindsets can be transformed to optimistic ones, and broken spirits can be mended and healed.

If you are feeling saddened and overwhelmed by sin today, know that you are not alone, and that you are very much so loved, not only by all of your brothers and sisters in Christ who care about you, but by God, your Heavenly Father. As we are now in a new year, what better time to send out the old, and ring in the new? Let God transform you today!
