Only One"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Psalm 139:14 A steady stream of de-planing passengers moved through the exit and onto the concourse aisle. We were waiting for our flight to be called. My husband was engrossed in the morning's newspaper. I busied myself with a little game, trying to see if any of the hundreds of people that passed by resembled anyone know. I'm telling you, I saw it all. Airports are definitely great spots for people-watching. A middle aged businessman, with a cell phone glued to his ear, determinedly weaving his way through the crowd. A tiny old lady with a cat, meowing eerily, in a carry-on cage. A thin, young man in a t-shirt and long dreadlocks clipped up in back, keeping up a brisk pace. A mom with a baby in a stroller and a toddler trying to break free from her grasp. A young couple with red eyes, clutching each other's hands and looking downward. People from all walks of life. All ages, all shapes and sizes. And, nope! Not one looked anything like anyone I know. We have a friend whose motto is, take the best care of yourself that you can because there's only one of you. Only one. There's only one person like me. Only one like you, too. No one else's fingerprints will match yours. No one else's dental ID's can duplicate yours. We are each uniquely and individually created. If you ever wonder whether or not you are special to God, just think, you are the only one of you in the whole wide world. In fact, the Lord will treat you as though you are the only one in the whole wide world. Period. That is good news.
