Sticky SituationsWe all have days- sometimes weeks- with a little more "challenge" to them. We get to decide if we're going to let those troubles "gum up" our spiritual lives or if we're going to let those troublesome things work to build good things into our lives. Romans 5:3 says, "We continue to shout our praise even when we're hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we're never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary- we can't round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!" (The Message) We don't need to let miscellaneous Chia happenings make us feel shortchanged. Stay alert for whatever God wants to do next. You might want to also stay alert for gum blobs hanging from your bangs.
