What a Difference!

The newly installed stained glass windows in our church are exquisite.Each Sunday I admire their majestic beauty. The colors glow so vibrantly and the images depict one wonderful biblical scene or another.

Recently I attended an evening service where I saw the windows from a new perspective. When we walked toward the church in the frosty December air, my eyes were drawn to the round stained glass window high upon the side of the building. On that particular evening, the stars were shining and the moon was full, but their beauty did not compare to the illuminated stained glass window. The special glow shone through the window in a most remarkable manner.

When I entered the church, I settled into the pew and glanced at the same window. It was dark and forlorn, showing no beauty at all. The magnificent colors and pictorial story told by the window were obliterated from my sight. There was no light shining through it! I knew this window was compiled of many beautiful pieces of cut glass, perfectly fitted together to depict a special Bible story. But realizing this information, and seeing its beauty display (only by the power of light shining through it) were two different things.

Likewise, a person may have a colorful and pleasing appearance. The pieces of his life may fit together nicely and depict a wonderful story, but if Jesus doesn't live within him, something is missing. It is that very special and powerful inner light which will shine through, illuminating his assets.

Do you want that "special glow", that wonderful splendor, to be displayed through your life? Just ask Jesus in and there will be a beautiful transformation. It will start within, right where Jesus has come to abide, and the light of His love will make a wonderful difference in the glow you exhibit.
