Seeking And Finding #303There are a lot of people today who think they think they have to prove themselves. In the process, they find out that it is a heavy burden. They end up with frayed nerves and ulcers. The thing is, these heavy burdens show us that we are frail. They show us we are weak. They show us our own inabilities and sinfulness. But when this happens, we should recognize those weaknesses and sins. Trying to hide them only compounds the burden. You see, Jesus Christ offers Himself to people who recognize their own frailties and sinfulness. Listen! "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls" (Matthew 11:28-29). When you accept the invitation of Christ, you can quit trying to prove yourself. It is too big a burden. Rather, you trust in Jesus Christ. You find God through a confession of sin and faith in Christ.
