Forgetting God

I remember one holiday years ago where I baked and fussed over a special meal for our family, and only my husband and I showed up; our two young adults at the time had “other plans.” I remember the feeling of disappointment, and I wondered if I had raised ungrateful and unappreciative children.

I wonder if God feels the same way when we turn down or totally ignore His invitation? He has prepared a feast for us, and yet, we insist we are too busy, have other plans, or make other excuses why we chose not to partake. Then, when something goes wrong, who do many of these same people call on who previously wanted nothing to do with God?

God.

Think about some of the more recent tragedies to occur, and how survivors told of people screaming out to God to save them, or last minute prayers in the attempt to save their soul before they perish.

Just as we should show our earthly friends and family how much they are cared for and appreciated before its too late, let us also not neglect our heavenly Father.
