CTRL-ALT-DELControl - Alt - Delete. Three keys that are known to almost everyone who uses an IBM Compatible PC. Macintosh users will recognize the Command - Control - Startup keys as performing the same function. The three keys that, one way or the other, will get you out of almost any situation you have encountered. Three keys that perform what is know as a Reboot. Rebooting can be very useful: It is simple, efficient, easy to execute: CNTL-ALT-DEL, and the computer starts over. "But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:13b-14 Life is hard. We face life as a series of joys and struggles, hardships and triumphs, seasons of peace and war. We move through life learning, rejoicing, struggling and growing closer to God as He directs our paths. But sometimes things lock up. Sometimes, life does not move forward. Sometimes all that we know comes crashing down around us; and life forces us to Reboot. While this may be easy on a computer, it is devastating on a person. A computer starts up again in a few seconds, for us it may take years. A computer will lose a document or a few hours of work, for us we might lose all we have and all we have known. All that has taken us a lifetime to build. A computer clears the memory when it reboots. Our memories stay fresh and clear and painful. Forgetting what lies behind... "God, will I ever forget? The memories are too fresh, the struggle too recent, the hurt too real." Reaching forward... "Thanks God, that there is a "forward." To be honest, I don't even know what that "forward" will hold, but keep me reaching in that direction." Press on... "And in Your strength, I'll press on." The Prize... "Knowing that You are the Prize. And that to be in Your calling is the highest place I can be. The most secure place I can be." God, help me as I Reboot. Steady me as I get up. Guide me as I start over. Amen."
