God's Demonstration of Love #325My daughter just bought a new car. What sold her was the demonstration. She had hands-on experience with the car and she loved it. That's what demonstrations are. You run the vacuum cleaner, operate the tractor, or drive the car. Romans 5:8 tells us, "God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Love is something you demonstrate. God demonstrated His love by sending His Son to die on behalf of sinners. Again, Romans 5:8 says, "...while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." We all fall far short of perfection. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23). We must admit this. Why? Christ died for imperfect sinners. He said, "I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners..." (Matthew 9:13). We are all due eternal punishment for our sins. Those who come to God's demonstration see Christ die in their place on the cross. They receive the gift of eternal life and the promise of a place in God's heaven. "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23). They participate in the demonstration of God's love by trusting the death of Christ on the cross. Do you have this kind of hands-on experience with Christ?
